This is the place. For all those questions you really wanna ask about working with an SEO web copy / content writer + strategist, but kinda wish were just answered on a website.

If I don’t answer your question here – tap that big ‘ol button bellow + holla at me. Chances are – if you’re thinking it, someone else is too.

FAQs

  • *blushes wildly* - Thank You. People like you keep me powering up my laptop, even when self-made biz life gets really freakin’ hard. When you haven’t worked with a copywriter + strategist before, it can be confusing – I get it. And we all do things differently. I’ve put together a snazzy little page on my website copy + content writing process here and (hopefully) all your 1:1 small business strategy session questions are answered here (and 2 questions down.)

  • I’m not for everyone. I also don’t enjoy working with everyone. I’m big on working alongside good humans who align with my values. So, if you haven’t already – have a good read of my website. It’s authentically + unapologetically me. Then, if you wanna take it a step further – let’s jump on a complimentary 15-minute Clarity Chat. It’s kinda like speed dating for business – if we’re a match, we’ll both feel it. But rest assured there’s zero sleezy sales tactics here.

  • If you wanna chat about your accounts or tax. Ab-so-lute-ly don’t get in touch. I outsource my accounting, because – well, it’s not my thing. And while I’m super cosy with my numbers, I’m also big on outsourcing to the experts. Let’s play to our strengths + lean on the right people for support. My 1:1 strategy sessions typically include support with: developing + communicating your voice + messaging, content strategies, social media guidance, website copy + user experience assessments, SEO guidance + implementation, idea formation, streamlining services, growth planning + action, accountability, biz / life tilting + support.

  • My contact hours are Monday – Thursday 9am – 2.45pm (NZ time.) if you’re enquiring about working together - please fill out a Project Enquiry form. Otherwise, email is my preferred method of contact. DMs, PMs, text messages, courier pigeon + notes on my car are all acceptable forms of contact BUT I’m not in the business of instant replies – and it’s easy to lose track of comms from all over the place. I do my best to respond to emails within 3 business days. If your enquiry is urgent, please help me out + mark it as urgent.

  • I love a good phone call. Sometimes 36 emails = 1 quick chat over the phone. Amirite? And I’m all for making stuff simple. So yeah – pick up the phone and dial my digits. If I’m available, I’ll pick up. If I’m not – I won’t (but I’ll let you know when I am). Please get familiar with my contact hours (above) and understand that during strategy sessions + creative writing – my phone is on silent.

  • For the good humans of Hawke’s Bay, when time + space allows I’m 100% up for in-person meetings – especially for strategy sessions. Oh human connection – you’re my favourite thing (and Zoom fatigue still gives me PTSD post twenny-twenny). If you live throughout other areas of NZ (or around the world), girl does love to travel – so just buy me a plane ticket *off to pack my suitcase right now*

  • Flick me an email. I’ve worked with a swag of newbie biz owners, and I’m always happy to be a sounding board. We can talk about where you’re at > where you want to be, and I’ll let you know how you can move forward. If not with me – I’ll let you know a few of my fav biz brains.

  • First things first. Website copy + email marketing is an investment. These bad boys work for you 24/7 - yes, even while you’re sleeping. I’ve listed investment guides across my website (web copy pricing here + copy + content writing pricing here) so we’re on the same page. However, no two projects are the same and a 5-page website or email marketing flow may be entirely different for different people + businesses. Therefore, prices are quoted per project after an initial discovery chat. Payments are split into 2 instalments – a non-refundable 50% deposit is required to commit + book your project with me, + the balance is due before you receive your final copy or content. As a small business myself, I completely respect budget considerations so I’m happy to discuss options for additional payment plans.

  • Hey %insertname% - that’s cool, I fully respect people have the right to charge differently because we all have different strengths, + we all do things differently. The website copy + content I write is an investment. They’re the words on your website that work 24/7 for you. They’re the words that reach, + resonate with, your dream customer / client + get a little Google glory so you can shine online. They’re purpose-driven words + they come backed by knowledge, experience + a commitment to life-long learning. With respect - if you want cheaper + can get it elsewhere - go get it.

  • It depends on the size of your project. I generally run a 4–12-week lead time for project bookings. So, if you wanna work me – it pays to get in touch with as much notice as possible. For website copy – once you’ve paid your deposit + completed the project brief questionnaire (+ I have all the info I need from you) I’ll generally turnaround the final copy within 3-8 weeks. It’s a tricky one to answer without knowing more about your project. The main message here? Please get in touch early. Every project is different + timeframes will differ.

  • Maybe. The main reason I don’t offer day rates is because creativity needs space to breathe. I don’t wanna be forced into delivering work that I’m not 97% satisfied with (trust me - no creative is ever 100% happy). But, I’m always open to an initial convo. Best way to find out? Fill out the Project Enquiry Form on my Contact page.

  • I respectfully hold time + space for the people who have waited to book in with me. If your project is urgent, please flick me an email + I’ll let you know if I can help. I charge a 25% rush fee for projects that require a turnaround of less than 72 hours.

  • Look, if throwing a few choice words out there is who you are and it fits with your brand voice – then yeah, maybe – time + place. But when I’m writing your website copy + content I’ll be writing in your brand voice + tone. The words will be distinctly yours. I’m here to represent you, authentically. Just ‘cos I get a little sweary-MC-swear-face in mine, doesn’t mean I will in yours.

  • You. Once you’ve settled your final invoice your copy + content becomes your intellectual property. I’ve got pretty standard project Terms + Conditions that you’ll receive if you’re keen to work together. They protect us both along the journey before the words become yours. But don’t you worry – I don’t restrict where, when or how you can use your words once they become yours.

  • Let’s keep this simple, yeah!?! Holla @ me and we’ll chat next steps.
